CLASSES FOR KIDS AND TWEENS

Ages 7-8 and 9-12

ZBS has become one of the industry leaders for professional actor training for young actors.  Our students have had leading and recurring roles in films, television shows, and theatrical productions.

The Kids and Tweens ZBS cutting-edge curriculum is focused on a whole-self approach to the acting process: fusing advanced acting technique with self and artistic development.  All classes are designed for professional working actors.

ZBS also accepts enrichment funds from approved Charter School programs for class payment.  If your child is currently registered with iLead Schools, Sky Mountain, Excel Charter Academy, Heartland Charter School, Blue Ridge Academy, Yosemite Valley Charter, Sage Oak, Granite Mountain, Monarch River Academy, Cottonwood School, Clarksville Charter, Winship Community, Lake View Charter, Feather River Charter School, please e-mail us at info@zakbarnett.com for program details.

Course Description:

The Young Kids Class introduces the ZBS Whole Self Approach for kids 7-8 years of age. The class works both on and off camera, and incorporates elements of auditioning, improvisation and scene work, as well as introduces self-awareness exercises that help the young actor develop in their emotional maturity and intellectual capacity.  The class introduces acting as a self-study and lifelong practice, much like a martial art.

The class has a 20-week commitment, after which the student continues ongoing monthly classes until they are ready to progress to their next class.

Course Description:

The Core Class is an On-Camera Audition Class that focusses on five television genres: single-cam, multi-cam, procedural drama, serial drama, and hybrid/streaming. It simultaneously introduces the ZBS Whole Self Approach, which focusses on the Core Experiences: the energetic states that precede emotion—things like fear, loss, joy, presence, etc. This system of self-awareness, and how it relates to the material and at the actor’s instrument, becomes the foundation for the work at ZBS.
