ZBS Panel Event: “WHAT’s NEXT!”
The panel will be an enlightening conversation moderated by Zak Barnett between Brent Paxton from Kreativ Media Partners and Raynard Pearson from WORK! Talent.
This event is part of ZBS’s “What’s Next!” Series— a dynamic response to the roller coaster of challenges the industry has faced, from the upheavals of a pandemic and Industry strikes to AI. In this series, we’re not just asking “What’s Next?”; we are creating a think tank around the answer. This discussion will offer a fresh approach to navigating and evolving in our fast-paced industry.

Meet the Panelists:
Zak is widely regarded in the industry for cultivating a generation of breakout stars. His clients, past and present, range from Broadway to Hollywood to Bollywood, from critically acclaimed up-and-comers to breakout stars and icons.
Currently, Zak has over 250 students working as series regulars on major television shows, as well as hundreds of others working as guest stars, co-stars, and major roles in both studio and independent films. Among his students and clients, past and present, are numerous NAACP, SAG, People’s Choice, Golden Globe, and Emmy winners. He also consults for directors, productions, and networks, to ensure both individual actors and entire casts rise to the occasion of their best performance possible.
WORK! Talent, founded by Lead Agent Raynard Pearson, is a boutique agency specializing in TV and Film, Commercial, and Print. Raynard’s journey in the performing arts began at the age of fourteen, and he honed his skills at several renowned talent agencies in Los Angeles such as C.E.S.D. (Cunningham, Escott, Slevin, Doherty) in the young talent division, where he worked with major young talent such as Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence, and Hayden Panettiere.
Raynard desired something more challenging and decided to take a leap of faith by opening his agency called WORK! TALENT. 2023 was the 10-year Anniversary of WORK! Talent and he looks forward to another 10 + years booking his clients in commercials and television shows on all the major networks and streaming platforms.
Brent Paxton, cousin to the esteemed Bill Paxton, boasts a distinguished career in the entertainment industry with a strong connection to Latin America and a bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Residing in Los Angeles since the early 2000s, Brent transitioned to talent representation, specializing in on-camera talent for television and major motion pictures. He has consistently booked actors in critically acclaimed television shows and films. Known for his script development prowess, Brent is recognized as a “script doctor,” refining scripts before they are sold. His expertise has facilitated the sale of over 50 feature films and series.
Brent is pivotal in Kreativ Media Partners, acknowledged as one of the top 25 talent representation companies in the entertainment industry. His enduring dedication and influential contributions underscore his prominence in the dynamic entertainment world.

Whenever I get a script I always ask myself, WWZD—What would Zak Do?
During the camera tests and throughout rehearsals and filming on my Netflix series, “Julie and the Phantoms”, Zak’s work with our young actors provided them with the tools that enabled them to accomplish outstanding work. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear he was a magician

Zak Barnett taught me to love my craft. Before I came to the studio I loved acting and I knew it was all I wanted to do, but I didn’t know why. I learned to love the art of acting and find joy in making something special, something only I could create.
